AA Bondy

AA Bondy is an American folk/alternative artist from Birmingham Alabama. Bondy gained acclaim from his first band Verbena.  The band broke up in 2003, after which Bondy moved into his house in the Catskill mountains in upstate New York. Bondy's debut album American Hearts (2007) was produced in a barn near his upstate New York house.  The album showed a shift in Bondy's musical direction as he paints tales of life and love with an imagery that seems partly culled from the pages of some lost American novel, complete with characters and their struggles to make sense of the world around them. Bondy appeared at the high profile Sasquatch Festival in May 2009 and at the Bonnaroo Festival in June 2009. Bondy's second album When the Devil's Loose was released in September 2009, and has received positive reviews. A.A. Bondy’s minimal instrumental layers and careful arrangement shine though on each track. Travis Keller of Buddyhead selected Bondy's second album to his list of best records of 2009.
